Wolfgang Ulrich Roessler was born on March 12, 1928, in Germany, where he grew up in a small village as an only child. His father was a farmer and his mother a teacher. Unfortunately, when he was a teenager he lost his father in a farming accident.

After high school Wolfgang moved away from home to study engineering at the university in Stuttgart. Thereafter he obtained a master’s degree in physics. He eventually moved to Los Angeles to work at an aerospace engineering firm, from which he retired in 1991.

In retirement Wolfgang relished traveling with his wife, Isolde, going on many cruises all over the world and making regular trips to Germany to visit relatives. He also especially enjoyed visits with his children and grandchildren.

Wolfgang passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, surrounded by family, at the age of 98. He leaves behind his wife of 68 years, Isolde; his 3 children, Susanne (Will), Peter (Tricia), and Friedrich (Shalizeh); and 7 grandchildren, Christina (William), Elise, Eric (Natalie), Stephanie, Arya, Aurash, and Auguste. We will all miss him very much.
