William A. Thompson, Iii

William Arthur Thompson, III, age 83, of Torrance, CA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family January 27, 2017. A lifelong resident of Palos Verdes, Bill received his B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines and dedicated his career to the petroleum industry. He was a long time member of the Los Angeles Country Club and a devoted fan of USC football. Bill was a loving and caring father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his children, William IV (Francine), Lizabeth, Christopher (Jennifer) and Douglas (Jennifer); grandchildren, Camille, Weston, Nicole, Douglas, Sarah, Kaitlin, Anna and Amanda; and great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Mason. A memorial service celebrating Bill's life will be held February 3rd at 12:00 pm at Saint Cross Episcopal Church, 1818 Monterey Blvd., Hermosa Beach; reception immediately following. Visitation will be on February 2nd from 3-8pm at Green Hills Mortuary.
