William Stanley ("Stan") Ake

William Stanley "Stan") Drake was born August 31, 1927 in Los Angeles, California and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on July 4, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Vivian, brother Richard, 2 sons, William Steven and David Barry, and 2 step-daughters Sue (Jim) Crippen and Diane Rosten and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. He lived in the South Bay area his entire life. He worked as a comedy high-diver, bartender, big rig truck driver and as a captain on fishing boats. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge in San Pedro and an avid fisherman. Services will be held at Green Hills on July 12th at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that any donations be sent to Torrance Memorial Hospice Care.
