Listen to Obituary

It is with love and remembrance that we announce the passing of Wendy Gorton, who left this world peacefully at the age of 80. Born in England, Wendy immigrated to the United States as a young child, where she grew up building a life rooted in strength, independence, and kindness. She embraced her adopted country while cherishing her English roots, carrying both with pride throughout her life. Wendy had a deep love for animals, especially cats, who were companions throughout her life and a source of joy. She also found comfort and delight in country music, a soundtrack to many happy memories with family and friends. A dedicated member of the Sierra Dawn community, Wendy valued her role on the HOA board, where she gave her time, energy, and thoughtful care to ensure her neighborhood was a welcoming place for all. Her service reflected her nature—committed, fair, and compassionate. She will be remembered for her strong work ethic, her independence, and the care she showed her family and friends. Whether through her words or her actions, Wendy left a mark that will be cherished by those who knew and loved her. Wendy is survived by her brother-in-law and sister, Brian and Laura Mundy, her nieces Angela Pittman and Chelsea Morgan, and her nephew, Scott Mundy and their families and many friends, neighbors, and loved ones who will miss her dearly. A memorial service will be held at Sierra Dawn in HEMET on November 3, 2025 where family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and legacy. If you would like to share a gift in Wendy’s name, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity ARE Animal Rescue, in honor of her lifelong love of dogs and cats. The donation process can be easily assessed at ARERESCUE.org, and press the Donate button.
