Wayne passed away surrounded by his family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He fought with everything he had for more time with the people he loved and to return to his work family at Torrance Memorial Medical Center. As time went on and those goals moved further from reach, he never lost hope. Through incredibly difficult moments, Wayne showed all around him that even in hardship, one can still choose hope and humor. It was an honor for his family to walk this journey alongside him. Wayne was born on June 2, 1942, in Lynn, MA, and passed away on February 27, 2026, in Torrance, CA. After high school, he proudly served in the United States Navy for 26 years, carrying his knowledge, discipline, and skills into civilian life. He then began a 37year career at Torrance Memorial Medical Center, where he worked until his passing. Wayne was blessed with coworkers who became lifelong friends, and he cherished the environment and community he found there.

One of Wayne’s most beloved hobbies was “Wayne City,” his HO scale train layout and miniature town—a project he joyfully worked on for over 45 years. He poured creativity and craftsmanship into every detail, often naming buildings and businesses after the people he cared about most. Wayne was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His family filled his life with laughter, love, and the kind of crazy shenanigans he absolutely loved. He lived his life guided by strong personal and work ethics, a positive spirit, a ready smile, and a joke for any moment.

Wayne is survived by his two daughters, Edie (Mike) and Ruthellen (Gerald); four grandchildren, Becky (Jerrod), Adam (Alyssa), Adrianna (Danny), and Austin; and five greatgrandchildren: Emily, Philip, Dennis, Jerrod Jr., and Aiden. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Patricia, his parents Helen and Chester, and his baby brother Bruce. Wayne was laid to rest beside Patricia at Green Hills Mortuary and is now resting in God’s care.
