With great sadness we announce the passing of Violet A. Dragich (97), a beloved Wife, Mother, Grand-Mother, Great-Grand Mother, on Saturday July 16th, Palos Verdes Estates, California. Daughter of immigrant Croatian parents, Miro & Mamie (Borcich) Satalich, she was born in San Pedro, CA on October 29, 1927. She was raised in San Pedro and graduated from San Pedro High School.
Violet and her husband Peter established Quality Seafood in the 1950’s at the Redondo Beach Pier. Quality Seafood has been a gathering place for seafood lovers, and they—along with other family members—ensured that every customer experienced a wide variety of the freshest seafood.
Violet and Pete traveled extensively around the world on cruises, road trips, and many flights abroad. Violet enjoyed many hours with her favorite pet – Mischa. She loved to cook traditional Croatian recipes for her husband and family.
Violet is survived by her children Peter E. Dragich Jr. (Rose), Catherine Moseley (Fred), and Antoinette Belson (James); grandchildren Cassandra Jones (Jeff), Brian Dragich (Sharon), James Karolak (Alison), Angela Moffitt (Brian), and Matt Karolak (Jessica); and ten great-grandchildren.
A private funeral service will be held on Saturday August 16th at Green Hills Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Violet’s memory be made to the American Kidney Fund (givekidney.org). Please sign the Guestbook.
