Violet Acebedo
January 19, 1927 — August 12, 2021
Violet Acebedo was born in Long Beach, California on January 19, 1927 and passed away at the age of 94 years young on August 12, 2021 at her home in Carson, California. Violet, affectionately known as “Mommy”, “Grama” and “Gramma-grams” was the fourth of six children born to Henry and Erlinda Cordova. She is survived by her sister Elizabeth (Licha) and is now in heaven with her loving husband Gilbert and her siblings Willy, Tony, Sally and Leo. Violet attended school in Long Beach and resided most of her life at her home in Carson, California.
On June 3, 1951, Violet married her life long soulmate and partner Gilbert in Ensenada Baja California. They have two beautiful and loving daughters, Cindy and Cissy, and five grand kids and six great-grand kids. Cissy kicked off the grand kid family tree with Ruben and Joanne. Cindy followed with Bobby, Matthew and Casey. She loved her grand kids and enjoyed cheering for them at all their sporting events, school performances and was the proudest grandma at every graduation. As much as she loved her daughters and grand kids, she cherished the time she had with her great-grand kids Madison, Tessa, Tristan, Eric, Evin and Blake. She beamed with joy and love every time her great-grand kids visited with her.
Violet enjoyed watching her Dodgers and Sacramento Kings on TV, especially when they were winning. Although she was known to occasionally switch teams during short losing streaks, she would always return to her beloved Dodgers and Kings. Violet loved to read and was a TV movie buff often watching her favorites like “La Bamba” and “Little House On The Prarie”, sometimes more than once in the same day.
A devoted daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandma and gramma-grams . . . she will be missed and will forever live in our hearts. Violet is survived by her sister Elizabeth Delgado, her children Cissy, Cindy and Manuel, her grandkids Joanne, Ruben and Carol, Bobby and Aimee, Matthew, Casey, and her great-grand kids Madison, Tessa, Tristan, Eric, Evin and Blake.
