Victoria held several jobs throughout her life before finding her true calling as an instructional aide at Will Rogers Middle School.

Victoria Ann Reid, 82, passed away peacefully on the morning of June 6, 2026, with her husband Luis holding her hand at their home in Torrance, California.

She was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 13, 1944. She was the daughter of Violet and Victor Caporale. Her family made the move from New York to Los Angeles in 1955, where she graduated from Mark Keppel High School in 1961.

She married her husband Luis on February 27,1965 and settled down in Norwalk, California. She later moved to Torrance, making it their permanent home in 1975 with their children Michael and Michelle.

Victoria held several jobs throughout her life before finding her true calling as an instructional aide at Will Rogers Middle School in the Lawndale Elementary School District. She was known for her kindness, patience and giving her all to her students each and every day. She retired after 20 years of dedicated service to the students of Lawndale. After her retirement, she continued to serve and bring light into the lives of others by volunteering for many years at both Torrance Memorial and Little Company of Mary. She always said she wanted to be a “baby holder” and she did just that, working as a volunteer in the NICU at Little Company of Mary, which she enjoyed immensely.

She was known for her kindness, patience and giving her all to her students each and every day.

When she was not working or volunteering, Victoria loved to read, watch the Dodgers or her favorite mystery shows and more than anything else loved to craft. She was especially known for her handmade cards. She also had a green thumb and loved to spend her time outside gardening. If anyone had a plant that was not doing well, they knew who to bring it to, and she would almost always bring it back to life due to her tender loving care.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years Luis, her children Michael Reid (Lisa) and Michelle Sabihon (Keith), her brother John Santillo (Gloria), and her grandchildren Tiffany Coleman (David), Jonathan Reid (Nikki), Brandon Sabihon and Lauren Sabihon and 5 Great-grandchildren Jace, Nora, Russell, Sierra and Summer.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 4:30 pm in the chapel at Green Hills in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
