Vincente “Vinnie” Aguirrè Ibarra passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Juarez, Mexico on August 24, 1945 to Guadalupe and Ignacio Ibarra. In 1949, the family moved to San Pedro, where he spent most of the remainder of his life.
He was an alumnus of San Pedro High School class of 1963. Vicente was a proud veteran of the United States Army, where he served two years of active duty and an additional three years as a reservist. From March 1971 until January 1972, he was deployed to Vietnam where he received the following accolades:
After his military service, he often traveled to Phoenix, Arizona and helped his father, Ignacio, at his dad’s auto body shop. He loved music; Blues, Rock n Roll, Motown, and Classic Rock. He spent evenings as a DJ at many family and friend’s functions. Vicente worked on the waterfront as a casual Longshoreman before purchasing and owning June's Bar in San Pedro until 2012. He was a strong-minded, generous, caring man who was loved by many and will be missed by all.
