Tracy Robin Dempsey passed away on April 15, 2026 in Long Beach, California. She was 60 years old. Born on July 6, 1965, in Torrance, California, Tracy lived a life defined by authenticity, warmth, and an unwavering devotion to the people she loved.
Born to Isobel Baird and Marshal Dempsey in 1965, Tracy spent her younger years in Torrance with her brothers Craig Dempsey and Brian Dempsey. They moved to San Pedro where her mother met Roman Roberts and his 2 children. Roman would end up being a dedicated father in Tracy's life. The blending of these families grew even more with the birth of Amy Roberts, Tracy’s little sister. They moved to Carson in 1978 where Tracy lived until her move to Long Beach.
Tracy attended Banning High School, entering the workforce at a young age. She took great pride in the fact that she held only two jobs throughout her entire career. Her first job was at LANCO, where she made long time friendships. She had a long tenure at Toys R Us. Working at Toys R Us brought her joy and pride. Her dedication and strong work ethic spoke to the kind of person she was: loyal, dependable, and committed to everything she undertook. After her retirement from Toys R Us, she started volunteering at Patrick Henry Elementary where she started to use her passion for photography. Her pictures were used in yearbooks, plays and folklórico programs. Tracy was detail oriented in all that she did, and those who worked alongside her knew they could always count on her.
In 1991, Tracy and Ruben Garcia, welcomed their daughter, Megan Garcia. Of all her accomplishments, Tracy considered becoming a mother to be her proudest moment. Her daughter, Megan, was the center of her world, and the bond they shared was something Tracy treasured above all else.
Those who knew Tracy knew someone genuine and honest, a person you could always count on to tell you the truth with kindness. She was trustworthy, the kind of person others naturally turned to, yet she was also wonderfully silly and funny, filling rooms with laughter. She was a passionate Dodgers fan who loved nothing more than watching her team play, where from the stands at Dodger Stadium or from the comfort of home. She had a deep love for her cats, who were faithful companions throughout her life.
Tracy loved her daughter, Megan, but was also very blessed to be surrounded by nieces and nephews that became her whole life as well. From the oldest to the youngest, they always brought a smile to her face, laughter, and filled her days with the utmost joy.
Nieces and Nephews:
Kristen Lum, Kevyn Roberts, Andrea Bogdanski, Kyle Roberts, Jenay Espinosa, Lauren Roberts, Aiden Roberts, Liam Roberts, Ruben Garcia Jr., & Daylen Roberts
Great-nieces and Great-nephews:
Dylan Carr, Ryan Carr, Kaitlyn Roberts, Roman Roberts, Avery Lum, Mia Jordan & Brady Lum
Tracy was preceded in death by her parents, Roman Roberts, Isobel Baird Roberts, and Marshal Dempsey, as well as her brother Craig Dempsey.
Tracy will be very missed but she will live on in the memories of all the people who loved her
