Tomi Eno

March 24, 1925 — July 16, 2025

El Segundo

In loving memory of Tomiko Eno, affectionately known as "Tomi," a cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend whose spirit radiated warmth and joy. Born on March 24, 1925, in Sego, Utah, she journeyed through life with a smile that could brighten the dullest of days. Tomi passed peacefully on July 16, 2025, in El Segundo, California, surrounded by her beloved family, leaving behind an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.

Tomi's early life was shaped by significant trials. The Nagata family's resilience was tested when they were forcibly relocated to Poston Camp 1, a Japanese internment camp in Arizona, in April 1942. It was there, amid uncertainty and hardship, that Tomi met her loving husband, Jim Eno. They were united in marriage within the confines of the camp. At the tender age of 19, they began their shared journey, which took them first to Chicago before ultimately returning to California to help Jim's parents.

A stay-at-home mother, Tomi dedicated her life to her family, nurturing an environment filled with love and support. Her involvement at her children's elementary school and church rendered her a well-respected figure in the community, elevating her role as PTA President into a cherished position where she fostered connections with families and children alike. When her children were grown she went to work at General Telephone where she retired after 25 years.  In her later years she enjoyed sitting on her son's porch, savoring the beauty of God’s creation.

A devoted grandmother, Tomi shared unforgettable moments with her grandchildren. She delighted in taking them to Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm, cheering them on at sporting events, and surprising them with pastries, donuts, and dinners from Hana Haru. Her willingness to envelop them in her love is a testament to her character—she was not just a grandmother but a joyful servant to everyone around her.

Tomi is survived by her loving sister, Mary Hino, her daughter Joanne Oden, and her sons Jon Eno and Ed Eno. Additionally, she leaves behind her adoring grandchildren: David Eno, Emi Orikasa, Steven Eno, Alissa McCullough, Erin Fack, JJ Eno, Tomiko Radford and 11 great grandchildren. Each of them carries forward the legacy of love, kindness, and laughter that she embodied.

Tomi's visitation will be held on July 21, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cove Suite located at 27501 S Western Ave, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. Graveside service on July 22, 2025 is for family only. A memorial will be held on July 23, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Seacoast Church, 100 N Pacific Coast Hwy, Redondo Beach, CA 90277. The family requests donations to Seacoast Church in lieu of flowers.

As we gather to celebrate the beautiful life of Tomi, we remember a remarkable woman whose commitment to her family, her community, and all those fortunate enough to cross her path will forever be cherished. Her spirit will undoubtedly continue to inspire all of us to maintain a warm heart and an open door, just as she did throughout her life. Tomi Eno, may you rest in peace, your legacy will endure in the hearts of those you have touched.
