Hubert Gerard Timmerman was born on June 7, 1939, in Batavia, Indonesia, and passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, in San Pedro, California.

As a child, Hubert lived through World War II under Japanese occupation, enduring life in a labor camp alongside his family. Following the war, he and his family immigrated from Indonesia to the Netherlands, where they began rebuilding their lives with resilience and hope.

In time, Hubert met the love of his life, Alida. Together they embarked on a new chapter, immigrating to the United States in 1963. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from UCLA, a testament to his determination and belief in opportunity.

Hubert, known to many as “Bert,” built a successful career in the defense and aerospace industry. He was also a hardworking entrepreneur and innovator, holding three patents to his name. His professional accomplishments reflected his intellect, creativity, and strong work ethic.

Above all, Hubert was a devoted husband, father, opa, and the ultimate family man. His greatest pride and joy was his family, to whom he gave unwavering love, guidance, and support throughout his life.

Hubert is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Alida; his sons, Daniel and Paul; and his four cherished grandchildren, Anneke, Annelies, Chloe, and Jason.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his hard work, story-telling, good sense of humor and his love of life and travel. His legacy lives on in the family he treasured so dearly.
