Shigeru J Sato

Shigeru “Jerry” Sato of Torrance, passed away on December 22, 2025 at the age of 100. He was born in Gardena, California to Chuichi and Haruko Sato on November 1, 1925. 

Devoted husband of 69 years to Setsuko Barbara Morihiro. Beloved father of Ronald (Donna) Sato, Diane Woyansky, Craig (Norine) Sato and Karen Sato. Cherished grandfather of Adam (Randi) Woyansky and Sara (Shane) Kinney, and Janine and Eric Sato. Admired great-grandfather of Nathaniel, Madelyn, Lillian and Olivia Kinney.

 Shigeru Jerry retired in 1990 at the age of 65 to further enjoy his family, several kitty cats including his beloved Smokey, Stuffles the dog, long walks, DIY automotive and household tasks, everything baseball related as a lifelong Yankees fan, gardening and watching Japanese television including sumo wrestling. He will be missed but lives forever in our hearts. Private funeral services will be held on February 3, 2026.
