Sheila T. Reisman, a devoted mother, grandmother, registered nurse, and healthcare leader, passed away peacefully at her home in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, on July 29, 2026. She was 83.

Born in Newark, New Jersey, on September 7, 1942, to George Beeber and Rae Steinberg, Sheila entered the world under extraordinary circumstances during a World War II air raid. Throughout her life, she met both triumphs and hardships with resilience, compassion, and quiet determination.

After graduating from high school with honors, Sheila attended The Mount Sinai Hospital School of Nursing in New York City, where she earned her registered nursing degree and began a career dedicated to caring for others. Over the years, she served in several healthcare roles before becoming Director of the Breast Center of Morristown, New Jersey. There she combined clinical expertise, compassionate leadership, and genuine concern for her patients, earning the admiration of colleagues and the gratitude of countless families. In 1964, Sheila married Robert A. Reisman, and together they built a loving family. Although she took great pride in her professional accomplishments, her greatest joy was always her family. She devoted herself to raising her children, encouraging their education, supporting their dreams, and celebrating their accomplishments. She often said that her greatest success in life was her family.

Sheila's life was marked by perseverance. She endured the loss of her father while still in high school and created a new life for herself after the early death of her beloved husband Bob Reisman. She always embraced new chapters throughout her life, including relocating from New Jersey to Florida and later to California. In an autobiography she wrote later in life, she reflected that there had "never been a dull moment" in her life—a phrase that perfectly captured her adventurous spirit, enduring optimism, and remarkable resilience.

Sheila is survived by her son, Garrett Reisman (spouse Simone Francis); her daughter, Lainie Reisman (spouse Will Wiseman); and her beloved grandchildren, Buster Reisman, Bixby Francis, Alex Wiseman, and Tessa Wiseman, in addition to her brother Richard Beeber.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert A. Reisman, and by her parents, George Beeber and Rae Steinberg.

Sheila will be remembered for her kindness, intelligence, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and the many friends and loved ones who were fortunate to know her.

A private family service will be held August 11th at 11am in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
