Sharleen Marie Belshaw was born on October 1, 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the youngest of six sisters. Her family moved from Ohio to Colorado then to Pendleton, Oregon where Sharleen graduated from Pendleton High School. Later, she moved to Portland, Oregon where she met her first husband, Bruce Baldus. They had a daughter, Becky, in 1980 and relocated to Southern California. A few years later, Sharleen and Bruce ended their marriage.

In 1985, Sharleen met Jay Belshaw. Becky and Sharleen moved with Jay to Redondo Beach, California. Jay and Sharleen were married on a May 23, 1987. In 1990, their first son Jeremy was born. Their second son Kevin was born in 1992.

Sharleen worked at the elementary school attended by all three of her children. She was a favorite of all the neighborhood children. She was also a devout Christian. Sharleen joined SeaCoast Church in Redondo Beach where she became a deaconess and was baptized.

Sharleen was a devoted mother and grandmother. Not only was she there for her family, her love was spread to all the people around her in her life. She would always think of others and help in any way she could. She gave the best hugs and was always the person you could rely on.

She spent her later years spending as much time as possible with her grandsons who adored her. She also enjoyed having dates with her girlfriends and game nights. She attended church regularly and helped the church as much as possible.

Our beloved Sharleen died on October 10, 2026.

Her life was magnificently lived. She lived a life filled with meaning and love. She will never be forgotten.

Sharleen is survived by her husband Jay, her daughter Becky, her two sons Jeremy and Kevin, her two daughter-in-law’s Nicki and Audrey, her three grandsons Sebastian, Blake and Bryce and her four sisters Silvia, Janice, Cindy and Barbara.
