Sachi Fujikawa, of Torrance, California, passed away peacefully at home on September 4, 2025, at the age of 96. Born in Seattle, Washington, to Kentaro and Shizue, Sachi built a remarkable life marked by devotion to family and a deep love of learning.
She devoted more than 50 years to the insurance and newspaper industries, admired for her intelligence, creativity, and diligence. Outside of work, she was a gifted seamstress whose creations reflected both passion and care. A lifelong reader, she especially cherished modern presidential biographies, always eager to learn and share her reflections.
Sachi was the beloved wife of the late Kaneso Fujikawa, with whom she shared 73 years of marriage until his passing in 2023. She is survived by her children, Melvin Fujikawa, Wendy and Wayne Ishimoto, and Kim Fujikawa, as well as Miss Daisy (forever in spirit). Her greatest joy was her role as grandmother to Ryan (Lisa) and Brandon (Linh). She also leaves behind her niece, Frances, her husband George, and their son Alex.
Sachi will be remembered most for her devotion to her family, especially her grandchildren, and for the exceptional strength and love she carried throughout her long and full life.
