Rudolph “Rudy” Larriva

It’s with heavy hearts in the passing of our dad Rudy Larriva, on 7-6-2026, at age of 96. Born April 14, 1930, in San Pedro, he was a life long resident.

Preceded in death by his parents Jesus and Maria Luisa Larriva, his wife Reyna Larriva, son Jesse Larriva, Grandson Erik Adrid, daughter in law Carole Larriva.

Our dad attended Barton Hill Elementary school, Dana Jr. High school. At 17, joined the United States Marines corps, from 1947 through 1950, including his duty in Tsingtao, China.
After returning home married our beloved mother Reyna Lucero.

Dad worked hard raising 7
Children, worked for American Can Company, then moved on to become a proud ILWU union member for 35 years, providing for family, through discipline, hard work, and unwavering sense of responsibility.
Retiring in 2003.

Our dad reminded us family 1st, do the right thing, work hard, show respect but, respect is also earned. He lived by those values.

Our dad is survived by his loving children, daughters Lorraine Adrid, Irene Larriva, sons, David(Cynthia)Larriva, Ron(Lisa)Larriva, Jerry (Anna)Larriva, Rudy Larriva, daughter in law Maryann Larriva. He leaves his built legacy of 16 Grandchildren, 21 Great grand children, 1 Great great grandchild. His loving sisters, Irene Barragan, Marylou Nuno, Elsie Larriva, many nieces and nephews.

We thank our dad’s caregiver for her kind and gentle ways with our dad, Kaiser Hospice team, Kaiser Hospital for making Our dad’s final days comfortable.

Our dad’s wishes that services be private, as his family we honor his wishes.
