Rosita Cudal Abad

December 18, 1932 — July 19, 2025

Mission Viejo

Rosita Cudal Abad was born December 18,1932 in San Narcisco Zambales, Philippines and was 92 years of age. Surrounded by loved ones, Rosita completed her journey here on earth and began her eternal life on July 19th, 2025. During the last 8 years of her life, she resided in Mission Viejo California to be close to family.

Rosita embodied a beautiful balance of tenderness and strength. She was compassionate, generous, and full of warmth—always putting others before herself. At the same time, she was a driven, insightful, and open-minded woman, with a work ethic that inspired those around her. As a devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was the heart and soul of our family—the cherished “icon” whose legacy continues to shine.

Rosita earned her nursing degree from The University of the Philippines which led to a rewarding career in both the Philippines and Guam, serving as a public health, neonatal, and post-partum nurse. One proud moment during her time at Guam Memorial Hospital was being featured in the Pacific Journal newspaper, pictured lovingly caring for newborns in the maternity ward. Rosita worked as a nurse for over 35 years working at Martin Luther King Hospital, Gardena Memorial, Harbor Post Acute Center and Kaiser Permanente where she finally retired. Rosita was also a successful businesswoman, who owned and operated many Residential Care facilities for the elderly and developmentally disabled. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, crocheting, sewing, and creating photo albums from her travels, but most of all, spending time with her family, friends, and grandchildren. Rosita also had an incredibly social spirit and always took time to acknowledge everyone she encountered.

Rosita lived a long and successful life. She overcame many struggles and was the creator of her own destiny. She was an inspiration to all, and her presence will be forever cherished.

Predeceased by her mother Gavina, adopted mother Natividad, father Higino and adopted father Claudio, and sisters Adoracion, Salvation, Aurora and Natividad.
