Loving Mother, Sister,Grandmother and Great Grandmother

Rosemary Targos, 96 years old, passed away of natural causes, peacefully in her sleep the afternoon of September 6, 2026 with her daughter (Sherry) and caregiver by her side.

Rosemary was the daughter of Joseph and Ida (Walker) Morad and one of six children. She married her husband Stanley Steve Targos in May, 1951. They were together until his passing in February, 2006. Her three daughters, Kathryn Abney, Sharon Targos and Beverly Clement carry on her ancestral legacy with four grandchildren: Nicole (Clement) Mahany, Kristen (Clement) Viehoff, Christopher Abney and Kelly Abney. Three great grandchildren: Vivienne Viehoff, Orion Viehoff and Cleo Abney who all brightened her heart. Rosemary and her daughters developed an honary kinship with Sue and Randy Grimshaw and they became lifelong members of the Targos family.

Survived by: Sister Carol A. Primm, Daughters: Kathy Abney, Sherry Targos and Beverly Clement; Sons-in-law: Charles Abney and Gary Clement; Grandchildren: Nicole, Christopher, Kristen and Kelly; Grandsons-in-law: Toby Mahany and Remy Viehoff; Granddaughter-in-law: Christine Shook-Abney; Great Grandchildren: Vivienne, Orion and Cleo.

She was the backbone that held our family together, the one that was always there for us for whatever we needed. She will truly be missed. WE will hold close to our hearts the great activities we all shared on our girl’s trips and all the time we spent with her. She will be forever in our hearts.

Rosemary was always active. She enjoyed bowling and playing bunco. She volunteered at Little Company of Mary Hospital Gift Shop for over twenty years.

Our mom was very blessed to be able to stay in her home she and our dad purchased over 72 years ago and spend her final days there. She was the cornerstone of our family. We had many family gatherings there and each one created new and lasting memories.

So, until we gather again, we will continue to carry on the memories and make new ones while we continue to build and grow our families.

Services will be held at The Mortuary at Green Hills Chapel on Monday September 21, 2026 at 2:00 pm.
