Rosalie Jean Hernando

Rosalie Jean Hernando, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Born on March 19, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, Rosalie lived a life filled with love, dedication, and a commitment to her family.

From an early age, Rosalie displayed remarkable determination and ambition. She graduated high school when she was just 16, and her talents did not go unnoticed, as she was chosen as one of five from her graduating class by the County of Los Angeles to work for the Hall of Records. Her career began at a young age, signifying her strong work ethic and drive.

Rosalie was known as a trendsetter, constantly exploring new avenues in her life. Although she had dreams of becoming a flight attendant, her path shifted upon meeting her husband, Marcelo. Together, they built a loving family that she would always consider her proudest accomplishment. Rosalie epitomized the values of compassion and support, nurturing her loved ones through every stage of their lives.

She shared countless joyful memories with her family, especially enjoying their time together at church. Her deep faith guided her throughout her life and served as a source of comfort and inspiration for many. Rosalie’s adventurous spirit led her to travel extensively, with Hawaii holding a special place in her heart.

Rosalie is survived by her devoted husband, Marcelo, and their beloved children: Marcela Hernando, Marisa Hernando, and Marlynda Hernando-Garcia and her husband Rick. She was a proud grandmother to Dimitrio, Miguel, Daniel, and great-grandchildren Dominik, Derrinn, and Gracelinn her sister Debbie and husband Gary. Rosalie also leaves behind extended nieces and nephews, as well as many others whom she considered family.

She was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of all who knew her. In recognition of her life and legacy, a visitation will be held on November 10, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cove Suite, located at 27501 S Western Ave, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. This will be followed by a funeral service on November 11, 2025, at 11:30 AM at Green Hills Mortuary & Memorial Chapel, also at the same address.

Rosalie Jean Hernando will be deeply missed, remembered for her warmth, charisma, and the unwavering love she shared with family and friends.
