Rosa Minerva (Minnie) Tapia Herrera, 80, resident of Lomita, CA since 1996 passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 27, 2012, surrounded by her immediate family. Born on January 19, 1932 in Corpus Christi, TX to Benito Tapia & Benilde Aleman, she was one of six children. She married and moved to the Los Angeles area in 1956 and lived briefly in Redondo Beach before moving to Hawthorne for 39 years and finally to Lomita, where she spent the remainder of her years as a supportive mother and grandmother.
Rosa survived by her daughter Sonia, grandson Michael Herrera, Jr., grandchildren Ashley and Andrew Carrillo, siblings Richard, Alma and Gloria Sandra, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, son Fernando (2 days old), son Michael (42), her brother Robert (66) and her sister Blanche (77).
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Green Hills Memorial Chapel, 27501 S. Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
