It is with heavy hearts and gratitude for a life well lived that we honor the passing of Robert Toledo, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, life companion, and friend. Robert passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, at the age of 81, after a courageous battle with health conditions. He was surrounded by the love and support of his family, who will continue to honor his legacy of kindness, warmth, and creativity.
Born on August 1, 1944, in Jemez Pueblo, New Mexico, Robert was the cherished son of Lucas and Juanita Toledo. Raised in a family deeply rooted in the traditions of their Pueblo community, he was instilled with values that shaped the compassionate and generous man he became. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved son, Joe; his sisters, Elsie, Margaret, and Santana; and his brothers, Jerome and Joseph, all of whom welcomed him into eternal rest.
Robert graduated from Jemez Valley High School, where he developed a lifelong curiosity and sense of adventure. Eager to explore opportunities beyond his hometown, he moved to Los Angeles, California, to pursue a career in electronic technology. He furthered his education at El Camino College, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Throughout his distinguished career, he worked for Northrop, Hughes Aircraft, Caltrans, and Motorola, earning the respect of colleagues through his dedication, expertise, and strong work ethic.
In 1966, Robert married Josie Loretto, and together they built a loving family, raising three wonderful children. He is survived by his devoted children, Brian and Gina, and by his loving life companion, Nina Montana, who brought him great happiness. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Joseph and Alyssa, and his treasured great-grandchildren, Autumn Star, Penny Luna, Nova Sky, and Olive Solea. Robert also held a special place in his heart for the Montana family—Daryl, Darren, Celeste, Tash, and Lily—whose love and companionship brought him immense joy throughout the years.

Robert's commitment to his cultural heritage remained steadfast throughout his life. He was an active member of United American Indian Involvement in Los Angeles and found great pride and fulfillment in participating in the traditional dances and ceremonies of his beloved Jemez Pueblo. These experiences kept him deeply connected to his roots, his community, and the generations who came before him.
As we remember Robert, we celebrate a life defined by kindness, creativity, humility, and an unwavering love for his family and culture. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched, the traditions he cherished, and the love he so freely shared. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know him.

In accordance with Robert's wishes, he will be laid to rest beside his beloved son, Joe, where his spirit will return to the land that nurtured his soul. Family and friends are warmly invited to join in celebrating his remarkable life and honoring the lasting impact he made on all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life honoring Robert will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Green Hills Mortuary & Memorial Chapel, 27501 South Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes, California 90275.
