Richard (Dick) Franklyn Corder 94, passed away on March 20, 2017 at his home in Torrance, CA. He was the husband of Mary Corder (deceased). They were married for 67 years.
He was born in Los Angeles, CA. He was a bus driver and construction worker.
He was stationed aboard the USS Oglalla during the attack on Pearl Harbor, he later became a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association and made many return trips to Hawaii over the years. He was a talented craftsman doing many home improvement projects, building boats, a camper and learned to paint and carve. He will be remembered for all these and much more.
He is survived by his three sons; Bruce of Wenatchee, WA, James (Jim) of Torrance, CA and Brian of Lomita, CA. Three grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Mary, his three brothers and sister.
There will be a viewing on April 6, 2017 from 3-8PM at Green Hills Mortuary and a graveside service at Green Hills Cemetery on April 7, 2017 at 12 noon.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Long Beach Veterans Hospital.
