Regina Aiko Miyamoto, born April 5, 1948, in Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, surrounded by her closest family at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center. Regina lived a fulfilled life on her own terms – nurturing a loving family, building a successful career, and all the while remaining the life of the party. Gina’s quick wit, loving heart, and indomitable spirit will be missed by all who had the fortune to know her.

Regina was born the third of seven siblings to Mary and Akira Miyamoto. She graduated from Waller High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois – Chicago, majoring in Sociology and Political Science. In her professional life working as a publicist in film and television, Regina was a trusted friend and colleague, a mentor and role model, and a mastermind at effective media management.

Above all, Gina cared deeply for her family and her lifelong friends, and she loved them with her whole heart. The wisdom, passion, and zest for life that she imparted will be carried forward through her son, Justin, her beloved granddaughter, Evangeline, and her surviving family and friends.
