Rachel Nuño Gomez, 88, of Rolling Hills Estates, California, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2026.


Rachel was born on August 3, 1937, on Terminal Island, California, to Jesus and Pascuala Nuño. As a young child, she moved with her family to Wilmington, California, following the displacement of residents from Terminal Island during World War II.


Rachel dedicated more than 40 years to the grocery industry and worked in real estate. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and cherished friend. Known for her strength, dedication, loving spirit, and vibrant personality. Rachel enjoyed dancing, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends.


She is survived by her beloved husband, Eddie Gomez; her daughters, Irene Gomez Zavala, Cathy Lopez (Jose Lopez), Ranae Gomez, and Crystal Gomez Aminsalehi (Patrick Enriquez); her grandchildren, Devina Fuentes (Chris), Monique Herrera (Fernando), Bridget Lopez (Andy), Brittany Farag (Andrew), Jonathon Vette, Marissa Lopez, Reza Aminsalehi (Shadeh), and Keyon Aminsalehi; her great-grandchildren, Breauna Fuentes, Aleah Fuentes, Marcus Fuentes, Freddie Zavala III, Brian Zavala, Zoey Vette, Cayden Vette, Natalia Herrera, and Preston Herrera; and her sisters, Virginia Hunter and Maria McKeon.


Deceased: Rachel Edna Vette(daughter) and Freddie Gomez Zavala(grandson).


Rachel remained strong and courageous until the very end. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Until we meet again in Heaven, Rachel, your love and memory will remain with us always.
