Obituary

Listen to Obituary

Pedro “Pete” Moreno Jr. was born on November 17, 1964, in Torrance, California, where he would go on to build a life defined by faith, family, and an enduring passion for everything he loved, rooted in the historic Pueblo “La Rana” neighborhood where he grew up and where his deepest family ties were formed. He passed away on June 14, 2026, at the age of 61.

Pete was a proud and loving husband to his wife, Teri, whom he met at the age of 15 and went on to marry, sharing a beautiful life together for 44 years. He was also a devoted father to his three children, Phillip, Petie, and Angela. His greatest joy in his later years was being a grandfather to his four grandchildren, Mia, Isabella, Phillip Jr., and Ezekiel.

Throughout his career, Pete served as an IT Manager, bringing the same dedication and discipline to his professional life that he applied to everything he pursued. A lifelong learner, he had a deep love of reading and drawing, and always sought to expand his mind. Pete also had a natural sense of style and took great pride in his appearance — he had a passion for sharp clothing and an enviable collection of shoes to match.

A devoted man of God, Pete dedicated four years to running the Men’s Home at Victory Outreach, where he touched countless lives, leading many to Christ and helping them find a renewed sense of purpose and direction.

Pete was an avid runner who regularly logged four to six miles several times a week, and proudly completed three Los Angeles Marathons. He was equally passionate about his beloved sports teams — the Dallas Cowboys, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

A true classic car aficionado, Pete cherished his prized collection, including his ’64 Impala, ’51 Fleetline, and ‘86 Cadillac DeVille. When he wasn’t behind the wheel, he could often be found dreaming of his favorite vacation destination — the beautiful shores of Maui, Hawaii.

Pete’s favorite films, Gladiator and Mean Girls, spoke to the wonderful range of his personality — a strong, faithful, and determined man with a warm and playful heart.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
