Patricia “Pat” Hunter was born in Newcomerstown, Ohio on October 31, 1937 and died December 15, 2025 at her home in California. Ever the tomboy, she excelled at baseball and other sports not considered suitable for girls in the ‘40s. She was especially close to her cousin Carol. After the premature death of Pat’s father, she moved with her mother, brother and an uncle to California. Pat attended Covina High School, then started work as a surgical assistant and later on an electronic assembly line until marrying Charles Hunter. In 1962, they welcomed their first and only child, Deborah.
Pat was very engaged with her daughter’s activities as Deborah grew up. Pat’s love of sports holidays, the arts, and gardening helped sustain her when, later in life, she cared for Charles following his stroke. She welcomed into the world two granddaughters, Anna and Sarah, and most recently a great-granddaughter, Lila. Pat is pre-deceased by father Edgar, mother Ruth, step-father George, husband Charles, and brother Terry. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Neil Dipprey; granddaughter Anna, her husband Chase and great-granddaughter Lila King; and granddaughter Sarah Dipprey.
