Nancy Ann
Bosnich
April 16, 1937 – April 1, 2026
Nancy Ann (Paddock) Bosnich, aged 88, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026.
She was born on April 16, 1937 to James and Delpha Paddock in Bakersfield, CA. Raised in a hardworking family with her sisters Jeannie and Jamie, she excelled academically, graduating at the top of her high school class. Unfortunately college was not an option for her at the time and she joined the work world upon graduating from high school.
Moving to San Luis Obispo, she began working at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo University where she met her future husband, Joe Bosnich, changing her life forever. She began attending Catholic mass where she found a deep faith and lifelong relationship with God. Her faith carried her through many challenges in her life. Joe and Nancy married at San Luis Obispo Mission in June 1956 and began their life together, happily married for 66 years until Joe's passing in 2023.
Nancy excelled at whatever she did, from raising a family, being a dedicated homemaker and wife, to finally achieving her lifelong dream of attending college. She graduated at the top of her class from Cal State University at Long Beach, ultimately earning her Master's Degree in Social Work, with an emphasis in Gerontology. She went on to serve as the Director of Rancho Los Amigos Adult Memory Care Facility for 20 years, in addition to serving in various volunteer leadership roles dedicated to Alzheimer's Research and Care. She was a sought after Speaker at national forums regarding Alzheimer's patient care and brought innovative and creative solutions to provide respectful, loving care to all suffering from Alzheimer's.
Nancy was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2016 and fought hard for many years against it. She has been adrift since Joe's passing in 2023 and can finally be at rest.
Nancy is survived by her three children, Joseph (Stephanie) Bosnich, Julie (Karl) Heberer, and Jim Bosnich. Her grandchildren, Nikki-Lynne Bosnich, Matthew (Erica) Bosnich, Aubry Heberer and great grandson August Bosnich.
Our Mom led her life with enormous grace, kindness and love. She always chose forgiveness and put her faith in God that he knew best and would never abandon her. May her life be an example of her dedication to faith in God for those that may need it.
