Monica Hye Chae, 58 years old, of Torrance, California passed away peacefully on September 23rd, 2026, at home surrounded by her family.

She was born on September 21st, 1968 in Incheon, South Korea and later moved to Buena Park, California. She was a Senior Manager of Accounting at Korean Air Lines for 30 years. On April 1st, 2000, she married Bruce Ho Chae.

She had a creative and curious spirit, finding joy in art and fashion. She enjoyed shopping, reading, and traveling the world. She loved cooking for her family, often showing her love through the meals she made. She appreciated the little things in life and was always interested in experiencing something new. She was funny, caring, and strong, and those who knew her will remember the warmth, laughter, and love she brought into their lives.

Monica’s memory will live on through her beloved husband, Bruce, her children, Mason and Taylor. She will be deeply missed by her family and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love, laughter, and the memories she created with those closest to her will remain with them always.

A viewing and funeral service will be held on October 8th, 2026 at 4:30-8:30pm at Green Hills Memorial Chapel, 27501 S Western Ave, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. Family and friends are welcome to join us in remembering and celebrating Monica’s life.
