Melissa Mae “Missy” Harbison passed away on August 13, 2025, at the age of 45. She was a native and resident of San Pedro and Rolling Hills Estates. Melissa truly knew that it was more blessed to give than to receive, and her generosity knew no bounds. She was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt, a beautiful soul who would help anyone in need. Her radiant smile lit up every room she entered.
Melissa had a deep love for all animals, especially dogs, and she devoted much of her life to caring for them through her dog-sitting business. She was also a talented artist who found joy in painting and creating unique pieces of jewelry.
She was the cherished daughter of the late Douglas Richard Harbison and Donna Jo (Sulentor) Harbison, and the loving sister of Anne (Harbison) Webber and Kathleen Harbison. She is also survived by her beloved niece Elise Marie Webber and nephew Matthew Richard Webber, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins in San Pedro, Rancho Palos Verdes, Long Beach, Montana, Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Vancouver, WA and France.
Melissa attended Holy Trinity School in San Pedro and Bishop Montgomery High School in Torrance, where she built lifelong friendships and nurtured her creativity. She touched countless lives—both human and canine—with her kindness, compassion, and generous spirit.
Melissa will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love by her family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to know her.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at Green Hills Mortuary, Memorial Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to your favorite animal charity in Melissa’s name, so that her love and care for animals may continue.
