On Thursday July 26th Mary Mckewen was called home to heaven. Mary was born in Woburn Massachusetts in 1933, the third child to Russell and Bridie Hatch. In October 1952 she met her soul mate Fred Mckewen. This October they would of celebrated 60 years of blissful marriage. They set sail to California in 1958. They settled in the south bay area of Torrance where she worked in the pharmaceutical retail department for 25 years. After retirement she and Fred traveled through out the country in their motor-home. Many of those travel years were to Boston, Florida, and Oregon for Salmon fishing one of her many favorite past times. Mary was an avid bingo player for over 25 years and enjoyed making crafts. Mary was a parishioner of St Philomena for over 40 years. Mary is survived in death by her husband Fred Mckewen, her sisters Eileen, Cathy and Elizabeth, her sons Bob Mckewen (Dyanna), Steven Mckewen (Joy), Greg Mckewen, Joel Mckewen, her grandchildren Jennifer Cabral ( Arturo), Brittney, Sydney, Madison, Kelsey, Zachary, Zoe, Skylee and her great grandchildren Brianna and Jacob Cabral and many nieces, nephew and extended family and friends.
Viewing/Rosary services will be held at Green Hills Mortuary located at 27501 S. Western Ave Rancho Palos Verdes, Ca 90275 on
Wednesday August 1st from the hours of 3-7 p.m. with the rosary from 7-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 2nd at 12:00 p.m. St Philomena Church 21900 South Main Street Carson, Ca 90745
