In Loving Memory of Mary Julia Lauro
Beloved Wife, Mother, Nonna, Great-Nonna, Sister, and Friend
Mary Julia Lauro, a beacon of love, grace, and creativity, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 2nd, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on June 16, 1933 in San Pedro, Mary was an angel on earth, a kind and gentle soul who lived her life devoted to her family, her faith, and the beauty of the world around her.
She was the beloved wife of Anthony Lauro, whose humor and warmth perfectly complemented Mary’s loving spirit. Together, they built a home rooted in joy, laughter, and unconditional love.
Mary was the proud mother of four children: the late Anthony Lauro, Paul Lauro (married to Nicole Lauro), Lea Lauro, and Dino Lauro (married to the late Josephine Lauro). Her love extended deeply into the lives of her six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, each of whom she cherished with all her heart.
She is also preceded in death by her sister, Lillian Marcantoni, with whom she shared a lifelong bond and many cherished memories.
Mary had a heart that saw the good in everyone. She believed in love above all else, wanting nothing more than for people to care for one another and find connection through kindness. Her presence made people feel safe, seen, and deeply loved.
A passionate artist, Mary found joy in creating beauty through her painting, sketching, and sculpting. A gift she often shared from the comfort of her home. Her creativity was an extension of her spirit, thoughtful, vibrant, and full of life.
She also had a wonderful sense of humor, shaped in part by years of laughter shared with her husband, whose playful jokes always brought a smile to her face. Her laughter, her gentle encouragement, and her warm embrace will be remembered by all who knew her.
Mary’s life was a masterpiece painted with love, laughter, and an unshakable devotion to her family. Her legacy lives on through every memory, every brushstroke, and every act of kindness she inspired in others.
She will be missed more than words can express and forever remembered with profound love and gratitude.
A private service will be held for the family.
