Mary Elizabeth Cassano

Mary Elizabeth Cassano, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 21st, 2025, just before her 76th birthday. Born to Leonard and Angelina Mattera, Mary grew up cherishing family, food, and stories. She had a special gift for bringing people together around a table and weaving tales of the people she loved. Her warmth and humor made everyone feel welcome.

Her shared memories brought her past to present. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Angelina Mattera. She is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Salvatore “Sal” Cassano; her loving daughters, Deborah Moore and Theresa Cassano; and her adored grandsons, Matthew Lampe and Little Ricky Moore. She also leaves behind her cherished sisters, Roseann Fell and Michelle Mattera, and a large extended family of nieces and nephews who knew her simply as “Didzee,” a name spoken with deep affection.

Mary’s legacy lives on in the meals she shared, the stories she told, and the love she poured into her family and friends. She will be remembered for her generous heart, her laughter, the songs she sang, and her ability to make every gathering feel like home.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
