In Honor of Maria Evangelina Mayorga
Eva was a beautiful, selfless woman whose life was defined by love, strength, and generosity. She was born and raised in Zacatecas, Mexico, a beloved daughter of Maria Alicia and Marcial Mayorga, and the third oldest of eleven siblings. From a young age, Eva naturally stepped into the role of caregiver, helping raise and care for many of her brothers and sisters, an early reflection of the compassion and selflessness that would shape her entire life.
Eva was known for her stunning hazel eyes, biggest radiant smile, and gentle spirit. Her warmth lit up every room she entered, and her heart was as big as her smile. She expressed love through "quantity time", thoughtful gifts, and acts of service, giving freely and wholeheartedly to those around her. She was genuine, strong, independent, and deeply loving. Her generosity knew no limits, always placing the needs of others before her own.
She was a devoted mother to her four children and a proud, loving Mama Eva to her four grandchildren. One grandchild was named in her honor, and another was named after one of her favorite singers. Testaments to the deep love and impact she had on her family. She believed that her two beautiful angel granddaughters would visit her in the garden as butterflies, a belief that brought her comfort and peace. Eva raised her children with a strength and resilience that inspired everyone around her, and she loved her grandchildren fiercely and unconditionally.
Eva found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. She loved spending time with her family, camping, gardening, reading, and cooking meals that brought everyone together. She was an excellent cook and proud of it, she shared her love through her food and her presence, making every gathering feel like home. She adored mariachi music, fairies, hummingbirds, butterflies, and the beauty of nature. She often said she would have loved to be a bird, living freely among the trees, animals, and water of the forest.
Eva was a true warrior, a loyal friend, and a source of unwavering support to those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her favorite color was green, her favorite snack was "bon bon", and her favorite flower was the Stargazer Lily.
Eva passed far too soon after a series of unfortunate events that left her tired heart seeking rest and peace. Though her time with us was not long enough, the love she gave, the strength she showed, and the legacy she leaves behind will live on forever in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed and remembered always.
