Marguerite
Ginekis
October 11, 1949 – April 17, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a truly remarkable woman, Marguerite E. Ginekis. She departed this life on April 17, 2026, at the age of 76, leaving behind a legacy defined by profound kindness, resilience, and an unwavering love for her family.
Born on October 10, 1949, Marguerite was raised in the Sidney area of Upstate New York. Her upbringing, rooted in humble beginnings, became the foundation for one of her most defining characteristics: an extraordinary generosity of spirit. Despite the challenges she faced in her youth, she possessed a boundless capacity to give to others, ensuring that those around her always felt supported and cherished.
Marguerite was the heart of her home and the devoted wife of Andre M. Ginekis Sr. for 42 wonderful years. Together, they built a life centered on family, integrity, and love.
She was a dedicated and loving mother to her three sons—Andre Jr., Alexander, and Adrien—and a proud mother-in-law to Cara M. Ginekis and Kat Ginekis. Her greatest joy in her later years was her role as "Nana" to her beloved grandsons and granddaughter, Demitri, Jase Ginekis, and Brooklynn T. Michalk-Ginekis, who will forever carry the warmth of her affection in their hearts.
Marguerite was a woman of many interests. She found beauty in the stars and spent countless nights lost in the wonder of astronomy. Her hands were rarely still; she was a talented crafter and a skilled knitter, often creating pieces that served as tangible expressions of her love. She took great pride in her appearance and was known for always having her nails perfectly done—almost always in her signature color, red. Many will fondly remember her for her vibrant social spirit, specifically her habit of sharing YouTube shorts, a simple, modern way she used to connect with friends and family, ensuring she was a part of everyone’s daily life.
Marguerite’s life was a testament to the fact that the richness of a person is measured not by what they acquire, but by what they give. She taught her family the true meaning of character, and while she will be deeply missed, the light she brought into our lives will continue to shine.
We honor her memory and the beautiful life she lived. She is at peace among the stars she so loved to watch.
