Margene Roark Higham entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on November 26, 2025, at the age of 98. She passed away peacefully in the presence of her loved ones. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of Christ, Margene leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and joy that touched everyone blessed to know her.
Born in Tennessee, Margene moved to Chicago at the age of 13, where she spent her formative years before meeting and marrying the love of her life, Harold Higham. Together they built a beautiful life and welcomed three children. After settling in California, Margene made her home there for the rest of her days.
Margene was preceded in death by her husband Harold and their son Jeff Higham (Carol). She is survived by her daughter Diane Siegel (Rick), and her eldest son Greg Higham (Rana), as well as her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Family was Margene’s pride and joy, and she loved each member of her extended family with a tenderness and depth of love that will never be forgotten.
As a long-standing member of Ocean View Baptist Church in San Pedro, Margene centered her life on her relationship with Jesus Christ. Her faith shaped her kindness, her generosity, and her devoted spirit. She served her church community faithfully and joyfully for decades.
Margene loved to travel and spent many years exploring the world alongside her husband Harold until his passing. After retiring from Hickory Farms, she continued her adventures—traveling to over 66 countries with friends and family. She delighted in sharing stories of her journeys, often recounting the people she met, the cultures she experienced, and the beauty she witnessed across the globe.
Margene lived a full, wonderful life marked by curiosity, love, and faith. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family and all who knew her.
