Marcos C. Peña

Marcos Peña, 59, passed away on June 11, 2025 in Harbor City, California with loving family and friends by his side. He was born in Ilocos Sur, Philippines, to Rodrigo (Rudy) and Dolores (Loling) Peña, the third of four sons. He was 2 years old when he migrated to California with his family and grew up in Compton and Torrance, California. He married Yumi in July 1991 and they had 3 children together.

Marcos loved to ride his Harley motorcycle. He liked to go camping with his brother, Ben, and their motorcycle crew. He enjoyed fishing and he loved to barbecue for family and friends. He had a strong sense of entrepreneurship and founded Peña’s Appliance over 25 years ago, where he sold, serviced and repaired appliances for many happy clients. He loved to watch his kids play basketball and periodically coached them. He also loved to take his grandchildren to amusement parks. More recently, he discovered woodworking and found joy in it. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and extended family.

Marcos is predeceased by his oldest brother, Herberto, his father, Rudy, and his granddaughter, Skylar. He is survived by his wife, Yumi, and their three children and their significant others, Marcos Jr. (Brittany), Ashley (Keane), and Jake (Jane), as well as four grandchildren—Alani, Jayson, Jeremih, and Kalia. Marcos is also survived by his mother, Loling, older brother, Fred (Isy), younger brother, Ben (Eleanor), and godchildren, Jade Jones, Michael Peña, Andrew Peña, and Nicolas Alejo.

Marcos’ Viewing & Visitation will be held at the Green Hills Memorial Chapel from 4:30pm to 8:30pm on Friday, July 11, 2025. For those who cannot make it to the Viewing, we will be asking family and friends (those who would like to) to share their memories of Marcos during the Words of Remembrance portion.  This will be livestreamed from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. His Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the South Bay Community Church, 2549 West 190th Street, Torrance, CA 90504. Marcos will be interred at Green Hills Memorial Park, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
