Manuel Ramirez Torres

Manuel R. Torres, 99, of San Pedro, California (“La Rambla”), was born on June 25, 1926, and passed away peacefully at home on December 20, 2025.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rita; his children; his stepchildren; many grandchildren; one brother; and three sisters.

Manuel proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. He was deeply proud of his time in the service and carried that pride throughout his life. Following his military service, Manuel built a long and honorable career as a longshoreman with ILWU Local 13, where his strong work ethic and dedication were well known.

Services will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in San Pedro, California, on January 15, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery in San Pedro, California.

Manuel will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the many lives he touched.
