George F. Benson Jr.

George F. "Jody" Benson was born April 5th, 1934 in San Pedro, CA to George and Maude Benson. He passed away peacefully on 12/28/13 at the age of 79. George was a long time resident of Lomita. After graduating from Narbonne High School, he enlisted in the Army. Upon returning to the South Bay, he went to work for Lucky Supermarkets for many years. Jody loved his family, friends and cat, Babee'. He was an amazing cook for many years, and with age became content to read his cookbooks and eat out daily. All who knew Jody will keep with them a special memory of their own. His love for family, friends and neighbors touched many people in special ways. No words are adequate to express what his life meant to those he cared about. He will be forever missed and his spirit and spark for life will live on in those he cherished. At his request, a grave side service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 12pm at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
