Sylvia Marie Allen, age 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Seacrest Convalescent Home, where she spent the last few years making many new friends.
She was born May 20, 1936, in San Jose, California, a daughter of the late Angelina Cardenas and Fred Galvan.
She moved to San Pedro at an early age where she grew up and graduated from San Pedro High School in 1953. She fell in love with Jerry Allen and got married in Las Vegas on June 27, 1959 spending what would have been 60 years of marriage this year. His care for her and passion for one another were like no other.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: John Allen, Jimmy Allen, Sandra Wendt; son-in-law Joe Wendt; and grandchildren Tiana Wendt-Albert and Tisa Wendt whom she greatly adored.
Her outgoing, and bubbly personality was admired by many while she cruised across the seas worldwide. She enjoyed her time going out enjoying entertainment, shopping and dining with her friends and family. She knew how to put a smile on your face with her vibrant and funny ways, which will forever be missed.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Sylvia touched are invited to the Green Hills Memorial Chapel, 27501 S. Western Ave. Rancho Palos Verdes, from 11a.m. - 12:30p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019, to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat.
