With profound sorrow and steadfast hope in the promise of Christ, the family of Lucija “ Lucy” Balov announces her passing on December 4, 2025. Born on January 3, 1940, Lucy lived a beautiful life of devotion, gentleness and unwavering love.

A beloved wife, a devoted mother and a joy-filled grandmother, Lucy’s life was centered on her family.

A longtime parishioner of Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in San Pedro, Lucy carried her faith with humility and grace. She entrusted her days to the care of Our Lord and the intercession of the Blessed Mother.

Lucy is lovingly survived by her husband of 67 years, Svetin “Sam” Balov, her sons Renato and Peter and he cherished grandchildren - Peter Jr., Knox, Maxine, Kylie, Madison and Samantha – all of whom were the light of her life.

While Lucy will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in the hope of the Resurrection and in the belief that she now rests in the eternal peace of God’s presence.

“Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.”
