Leonard Graham Jr.

Leonard Graham Jr., age 81, passed away peacefully on June 24th, 2025. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Born on January 2, 1944, in Athens, Louisiana to Lenard & Gatha Mae Graham. The family later moved to San Pedro, California when he was three years old. He lived a life marked by love, dedication, and faith. When he was 12 years old, he attended VBS at Union Baptist Church in San Pedro, CA and was led to the Lord by Pastor Bradley and was Baptized shortly after.

He met the love of his life, Ruby Graham, when he offered to drive her to Harbor College when she had a flat tire and they were united in marriage on March 22nd, 1970, at Fort MacArthur Chapel in San Pedro, CA. Together, they built a strong and loving family, raising two children: Leonard Joe Graham III and Chantalle Graham. He also cherished his extended family, daughter-in-law Faith Graham, grandchildren, Lauren Sienna Graham and Leonard Joseph Graham IV, brother, Johnny Ray Graham, sister, Lula Tave, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and dear friends.

Leonard was a proud business owner of Jessie’s Records in San Pedro CA, for 14 years. Later, he concluded his professional journey as a respected longshoreman. Leonard was known for his hard work and dedication to all who knew him.

His faith was the cornerstone of his life. A devoted member of First Baptist Church of Wilmington, he served as a Deacon, Trustee, PA system technician, served in the church bus ministry, special events worker, senior usher and church cleaner, embodying his commitment to God and his church. He will be remembered for his unwavering service and kind heart.

He fought the good fight, he finished the race, and he kept the faith. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Although we have been separated in death, we will meet again in eternity.
