Lawrence G. Souter, 57, passed away at his home in Murrieta on February 16th after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Pittsburg, Kansas and graduated from Ruskin High School in Kansas City, Missouri. He spent 35 years in the railroad industry working for Kansas City Southern and Pacific Harbor Line railroads. His positions included Locomotive Engineer, Trainmaster: Road Foreman of Engines and Safety Instructor. Larry was known and loved for his devotion to his family, his kind spirit, his ability to make people laugh and his dedication to his fellow workers. He is survived by his loving wife and caregiver, Mira; his daughter, Monique, of Springfield, Missouri and two step-children Joseph Vidov (Lisa) of Oak Grove and Melanie Spanjol (Bruno) of San Pedro; three brothers, Thomas (Mary Ann) of Tempe, AZ; Jarrett (Cynthia) of Lee's Summit, MO; Edward (Diane) of Sedalia, MO; and one sister, Teresa Souter Yosten (Joel) of Fort Worth, TX. He was the proud grandfather of three granddaughters and three grandsons. A Memorial service for family and friends will be held at Green Hills Memorial Chapel on Monday, February 23rd at 1:00 pm.
