Larry St. John

August 7, 1943 – March 4, 2026

Larry St. John passed away on March 4, 2026, at the age of 82. He was born on August 7, 1943, in Fayette, Kentucky, and spent his early years in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. His later life took him to both Florida and California.

Larry proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran, holding the rank of Specialist 5 (SP5) and stationed in Thailand during his time in the military. Following his service, he built a career contributing to the space shuttle program through his work with Hughes Aircraft Company.

He was also an avid and accomplished coin collector, known for assembling one of the most complete collections of half dollar coins in the country. His passion for collecting reflected his meticulous nature and unwavering dedication.

Larry had a love for the outdoors and physical work. He enjoyed hiking and spent time chopping wood, finding purpose and routine in staying active and working with his hands.

He was deeply proud of his sobriety, celebrating 20 years this past August as a sober member of Alcoholics Anonymous. His commitment to recovery and his involvement in the AA community were meaningful parts of his life.

Larry is survived by his children, Tyler St. John (partner Heather) and Mandy St. John (husband Ryan Keiser); his grandchild, Kay (partner Jace) and grandson Riley; and he was looking forward to meeting his soon-to-be-born great-granddaughter, Alice.
