With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of Kenneth Raymond Schloff, 83, of Torrance, CA, on March 15, 2026, surrounded by family. Celebrating his favorite “F” words, Family, Friends, Flowers, Food and Fun is the best way we know to remember his life journey. Born on August 26, 1942, in Wyandotte, MI, he was the son of Clarence & Gertrude Schloff and brother to Gerald, Richard, Sandy and Sue.

For 46 years, Kenneth was a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer, known for his tenacity, hard work and deep knowledge of automotive turbochargers. He married Judith on August 17, 1963, and together they built a life filled with family, friends, adventure and travel. He was known by many names, Papa, Mr. Ken, Uncle Butterfly and Uncle Kenny to those that loved him.

Known for his quiet strength and caring of family, Ken loved his orchids and plants and had a green thumb that extended to “Papa’s plant hospital” where he rescued everyone’s lost causes. He was a proud Marine, until the very end. Semper Fi. He never hesitated to remind those around him that he was and would always be a Marine. He was happiest when he was gardening his prized tomatoes and sharing the fruits of his labor or cooking something delicious to share with anyone that would taste his recipes.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judith, of 62 years, daughter Lisa, son-in-law, Michael and granddaughter, Kalin.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 10:00am at Green Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation: https://www.mcsf.org/
