June Fukuhara, lovingly known as Jay, departed this world on January 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and an indelible mark on the hearts of many. Born in the enchanting city of Kyoto, Japan, on May 20, 1955, June was a motherly soul who never had children of her own yet embraced the role of caregiver to countless young lives throughout her life.

Her career spanned significant years where she served as a Senior Tax Auditor for the State of California Board of Equalization and showcased her expertise while working as a Senior Tax Analyst for H&R Block. June's dedication to her profession mirrored her commitment to nurturing others, as she exemplarily balanced her work and her innate desire to help those around her.

In her personal life, June was an ardent seeker of joy – often seen exploring thrift stores, indulging in her passion for crystal shopping, and embarking on delightful travel adventures and lunches with her cherished girlfriends. These simple pleasures, paired with her love for cuddling her adorable French Bulldogs, painted a picture of a woman whose heart was as vast and welcoming as the horizons she traveled.

June was surrounded by the love of her family, who continue to carry her spirit within them. Steven her husband stood by her through thick and thin and she will continue to beloved and cared for by her best friend Frank who passed.  June also leaves behind a precious group of stepchildren: Misao, Verann, June Fukuhara Lambert, Tomie, and Steven Lambert Jr., all testament to her nurturing nature and loving heart.

The beacon of her sunny disposition and motherly kindness will always be remembered, and her absence leaves a void that can never truly be filled. June's services will take place at Green Hills Mortuary & Memorial Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, with visitation on February 20, 2026, from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM, followed by a Funeral Service on February 21, 2026, at 2:00 PM, concluding at 3:00 PM.
