Joseph H. Zingali left this life on January 22, 2020 at the age of 84 years young.
He resided in the city of Torrance, California for 63 years. Joseph’s death was preceded by the passing of his wife of 59 years Geraldine Anne and his daughter Jozy Soderstrom. He is survived by his children Veronica, Geraldine, Henry (Roberta) and Suzanne (Michael), 14 grandchildren 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Joseph was dedicated to the love of his life Geraldine and family and his most cherished moments were spent with them. He loved his son-in-laws, Bob, Charles and Mike and daughter-in-law Roberta as if they were his own. The love and caring he showed to his immediate family of 43 was with great pride and he did it effortless.
He owned his own auto body shop “Zings” in New Bedford, MA. Built and raced stock cars with his brother. After coming from the East Coast to the West Coast in 1957 he worked for Bob Cass Auto then as an insurance adjuster for Aetna. He moved on to manufacture remote control airplane propellers, J & Z Products, ZINGER Propellers. He was the President of a motorcycle club and the President of the BIRDS Club (remote control airplanes) where he spent endless hours helping and teaching fellow flyers. He was in the original movie “Gone In 60 Seconds”. He provided the root of our Catholic faith and was a parishioner of Nativity Church for 63 years. Joseph was an experienced pilot for more than 60 years having commercial and private ratings. Papa and Mom had a passion for flying in their personal aircraft as well as traveling around the world commercially.
Papa, it is with heavy and saddened hearts that we are now praying for you as you leave us and begin your next journey in life with Mom. It was all too soon, but God sets are path and you went doing something you loved, FLYING. We are confident that Mom, Jozy and Bob along with all your family were waiting for you to embrace and hold you close. Papa please continue to keep an eye on all your children as you and Mom dance in heaven. The love you have for us will comfort us until we meet again.
