John Joseph Kerwin Iv

John Joseph Kerwin, IV, went to be with his Creator on August 6, 2024, at Torrance Memorial Medical Center. He was surrounded by his life partner, Magda Kispal, and several friends.

Mr. Kerwin was born on November 1, 1947 in the Santa Monica Hospital in Santa Monica, California to John Joseph Kerwin, Jr. and Jeanne Marie Kruegler. John was an only child, and the center of his parents’ world. He was a premature baby but grew to be a strong and healthy individual.

John was an avid fan of all things pertaining to airplanes, the ocean, surfing, and boats. He was a caring man, with a zany sense of humor. He had a strong love of cats and enjoyed taking care of them.

John joined the Navy as a young man, and proudly served as a Navy Seal during his term of enlistment. He earned the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal during his service to his country.

He is survived by his life partner, Magda Kispal of Rancho Palos Verdes, and numerous cousins and their families.
