John Russell Fahey was born Sept. 3, 1923 to Mary M. Bloes and Wm. B. Fahey in Osage, Iowa. He lived his early life on a farm and received his education in a one-room school house, where the teacher claimed he was the smartest student she ever had.
After high school in Mason City, Iowa, he joined the navy where he became a radioman for the war’s duration. He settled in Southern California in 1946 and pursued his education at El Camino College and USC. Reading and learning were especially enjoyable to John as were team sports, archery and computers.
He married Joanne Fullmer in 1955 and is survived by her, his son Russell J. Fahey {Ailene), his daughter, Kathleen Rowland, six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren, all of whom he adored. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends who loved this quiet, intelligent man dearly.
