Joan Marie Carsten was born on December 18th, 1929 to Roy Amos Creutzburg and Margaret Creutzburg in Illinois. Joan and her Husband Thomas Alfonso Carsten settled in Torrance California in 1960 after returning from multiple years overseas as a Navy Family.

Joan loved to paint landscapes and was an active member of the Torrance Artist’s Guild for many years.

Daughter Jo was born in Torrance in 1948 and son Thomas was born in 1952. They moved to their home on West 226th Street in Torrance in 1960, where she lived until recently. Joan cherished her five grandchildren, grandsons Bryan Zardeneta, Brent Zardeneta, and Dru Rittersbacher and great grandsons Devon Zardeneta and Kaden Zardeneta. Our greatest memories come from all the occasions and holidays we shared with the Carsten Zardeneta Rittersbacher clan.
